Information for Authors

Authors interested in contributing a CASE Memo should contact (and submit their draft to) Felix Berenskoetter (f.s.berenskoetter@lse.ac.uk) or Holger Stritzel (h.stritzel@lse.ac.uk). As the idea is to establish and maintain a recognisable format, contributors are asked to follow the Memo structure below. The text should not exceed 2,000 words in length and its content should reflect the rationale outlined in ‘About the Memos’. The text should not contain references. However, authors are encouraged to list up to three pieces of literature (including own publications) at the end for more in-depth information on the topic covered.

C.A.S.E. Memo Structure

To ensure coherence and a recognisable format among CASE Memos, authors are asked to adhere to the following structure:

•Summary
Four to five bullet points, very brief

•Political Relevance
Clarifying why the issue matters by noting the political stakes at play and investments made

•Perspectives
Outlining core conceptual debate(s) and the main ‘camps’

•Analysis
Pointing to the deeper issues, questions, and contradictions underlying the debate(s)

•Implications
Delineating the institutional/operational consequences of choosing (or ignoring) a certain perspective.
