Disney’s Rich Ross Resigns

The president of Disney studios, Rich Ross, resigned from his post Friday, weeks after an unsuccessful premiere of the sci-fi film “John Carter”.

Ross announced his decision in Orange County, California, where the Disneyland amusement park is near. In his message, he acknowledged that he is not the best person to lead the studio.

“The best people deserve to be in the right places. People who are passionate, displaying all skills at work. I no longer believe that the role of the president is right for me,” said Ross.

For the production of “John Carter”, 250 million dollars was invested—a budget like the Fox studios had for “Avatar”.  But unlike the blue beings, “John Carter” barely managed to raise a revenue similar to the paid-in production.
