Mel Gibson was accused by his stepmother, Teddy Joye Hicks Gibson, of assaulting, threatening and spitting, so she requested a restraining order because she fears for her life.
The TMZ website reported that Joye, 78 years of age, asked the police help. She said that she feels her life is in danger. The petition outlines several Gibson incidents, including one incident last May during a family reunion.
Teddy, who married Mel’s father, Hutton Gibson in 2001, said the producer also became aggressive toward her on several occasions.
“Mel acted foolishly and looked like a lunatic. Mel started shouting in my face and he was so close to me. His saliva splattered on my face,” reads the legal document.
