The School of International Relations attracts an exceptionally high calibre of undergraduate and postgraduate students from around the world and was graded 5A in RAE2001. As part of its continued development, applications are invited for a Senior Lecturer/Reader in International Relations.

You will be expected to teach modules at the undergraduate and post-graduate level, to supervise PhD students and to conduct research specifically in the area of Terrorism and Political Violence. The latter will be broadly defined so as to include both empirical and theoretical approaches, and we are open to a variety of perspectives on its study. This appointment is to the School of International Relations, and an exceptionally well qualified candidate may also be considered for the directorship of the Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence – a position which becomes vacant upon the retirement of the current director in May 2009.
