-        What is the status of the modern struggle over space organised as a battle for legitimacy between competing authorities?
-        Does the dominant understanding of legitimacy as a governmental sphere of influence map out certain geographical and/or theoretical spaces as more problematic than other? -        How, if at all,is it possible to locate the practices of legitimation outside the territorial boundaries of the nation state?
-       How is the relationship between law and politics affected by the competing claims to legitimacy?
