Sorkin Works on Script for Steve Jobs

 

The official biography of Steve Jobs, written by Walter Isaacson , will be adapted for film by screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, This was confirmed Wednesday by Sony Pictures and Columbia.

Sorkin was Oscar winner for his work as a screenwriter in the film ‘The Social Network”, where he portrays the beginnings of Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg’s struggle to maintain this network.

“The story of Steve Jobs is unique: he was one of the most revolutionary and influential not only our time, but of all history,” said Amy Pascal, co-chair of the board of Sony, through a press release.

Pascal praised the work of Sorkin, marking it as the ideal person to carry the big screen the story of Jobs.

“No writer in Hollywood was able to capture an extraordinary life than Aaron Sorkin. We are confident that the film will be all that was Jobs: captivating, entertaining and challenging,” she said.

Sony did not add information about who might be the actor who would give life to the founder of Apple, or details about the start of production of this film.

Another independent film, with actor Ashton Kutcher in the role of Jobs, is currently being filmed in the United States.

The biography of Jobs was the best selling book on Amazon in 2011, with over 2.2 million copies sold in just 90 days.

Sorkin has worked in other films like “Moneyball”, “Charlie Wilson’s War”, “‘The American President”, and “Malice”. Sorkin is also the creator of the television series, “The West Wing ” and “Sports Night”.
