After canceling the Rosie O’Donnell program in prime time on OWN and what she called the painful task of firing 30 of its employees, Oprah Winfrey said on the show CBS This Morning, that the road to developing your OWN chain has had so many stones, which had considered doing something different.
“The creation of this chain was something I wanted to do. If I knew it was so hard, things would have done differently,”he told the presenters Charlie Rose and her friend Gayle King Gal. “I did not think it would be easy, but if I had known then what I know now, could have made different decisions.” She added, “If I were writing a book might be called the 101 errors.”
For example, one of its five major errors was “the launch when we were not really ready to start. It’s like having the wedding, when you know he’s not ready. When I think about it now, should have waited until the end with ‘The Oprah’.”
The struggle to grow to OWN growth itself was aggravated by negative press, but Oprah does not throw in the towel. “I think I’m here to fulfill my calling. Because I am a black woman who had so many blessings in this world will never be time to abandon a project. Die in the middle of what I love doing and that is to use my voice and my life to inspire people to live their best lives,” Winfrey said.
“Because when something does not seem right, because you failed at something, that does not mean that makes you a failure.” He continued “when deep down you know you can keep trying or you can use what is happening at that time to take a new direction. Our strategy is to do what we should have done from the beginning, to build a show, one hour, one night at a time”.
