The Most Popular Casino Games Shown in Movies

Of all the games that are played for entertainment, casino games have the most excitement surrounding them. A lot of this comes from the inherent risk of betting one’s own money on the outcome of the game. This level of thrill also translates well to the big screen.

Many movies include casino gaming as either a major part of their plot or simply as scenes within the big idea of the movie. Certain casino games have more excitement associated with them and are featured more often in movies than others. For example, the table game of craps is one that brings this feeling to both players and spectators.

In the 1987 movie, The Big Town, Matt Damon stars as a craps player who realizes he has a gift for the game. This leads him to head to Vegas to play for higher stakes. The movie features some excellent craps scenes with tension as viewers sit on the edge of their seat watching the game with anticipation.

casinos in moviesOther movies that feature craps are Ocean’s Eleven and Oceans’ Twelve.

While this movie takes a different looks a craps, it still provides information as to what not to do when gambling.

After watching these movies involving craps, viewers at home may wish to try the game out for themselves. The best way in which to do this is to go to an online casino like that offers craps.

For new players, learning to place a passline bet is a great way to start. A bet is placed prior to the rolling of the dice. If the shooter rolls either a 7 or an 11, passline bets win. However, if a 2, 3 or 12 are rolled, the passline bet loses. Another other number that is rolled becomes known as the point number. This number must be rolled again before a seven is rolled. If this does occur, then even money is won.

Star Transformation: extreme weight loss

Did anyone see Magic Mike? I know I did! It was like going to a strip club without the shame of walking in, the shame of walking out, or the one dollar bills pulled from my purse and stuffed into some hunk’s g-string. It was a great show… not a great movie. Channing Tatum has a body and face to die for, and Matthew McConaughey slides in nicely at second (I’m young so I pick Channing, but my mom is a diehard McConaughey fan, so I think he fares better with the more mature ladies). He was buff and tanned and oiled up. It was a great look, I won’t lie.

However, he has recently been forced to shed forty pounds for a role as a man with AIDS. The film has since concluded filming and the star has put healthy weight back on– by that I mean, in the form of muscles, and is looking great. Here we see him during filming:

….He looks downright terrifying.  Some other stars that have shed necessary weight are Fifty Cent, who was actually portraying a friend of his, and Christian Bale for the Machinist. We’re happy to report that both Fifty Cent and Christian Bale have since returned to their healthy musculature. You can see the comparisons of both below:

And last but not least, since I like to leave on a positive note… but more so because I really like to look at Matthew McConaughey when he doesn’t have a shirt on:

Albert Nobbs movie review

Director: Rodrigo Garcia
Year: 2012
Genre: Drama
Albert Nobbs, the film starring Glenn Close in the shoes of a man. Yes, the solid Hollywood actress has seen fit to transfer the character she played in the theater since 1982 with success on the big screen. The result? An even more blatant, that brought her to receive an Oscar nomination as Best Actress, in defiance of another queen transformisms, Meryl Streep.
Who is Albert Nobbs? The “gentleman” in question is a distinguished servant of a luxury hotel in Dublin, estimated by customers for its reliability. Reserved and respectful, Albert does his job with zeal and skill, not letting emotions leaked details of his ice-blue eyes. Emotions that actually exist, and that the protagonist feels strong and clear: under clothing for men, in fact, hides a woman (of which you will not know the name) not to end up the victim of a misogynistic society (he was an illegitimate child) dresses as a man. Fate, however, who discovers he does not share alone: even the painter of the hotel is a woman (the actress Janet McTeer, another candidate to the statuette).
Glenn Close goes down in part to perfection, bringing to film the essence of the novel by George Moore which it is based: a woman forced to give up his identity. Choice that will bring consequences that are difficult to handle for a lifetime. The most important? The emotional solitude. In fact, Albert tip eyes on the young waitress Mia Wasikowska, but things do not go according to plan. A must watch movie!
