The famous actor and producer, Tom Hanks, is in the talks to portray Walt Disney in the movie “Saving Mr. Banks”. This is a project on the problems faced by the celebrated creator of Mickey Mouse to move forward to achieve the film “Mary Poppins”, reported Variety.
The film will be directed by John Lee Hancock (“The Blind Side”) and is based on the true story about the 14 years Walt Disney spent trying to convince the Australian author of PL Travers to ceded the rights to the character Mary Poppins with the idea to bring it to the big screen.
Emma Thompson is in talks with Disney to portray study Travers. “Mary Poppins” came to the cinemas in 1964 and became a treasured classic and had 13 Oscar nominations and got 5 Oscars, including best actress for the work of Julie Andrews as Nanny Poppins, although he missed the best film award went to stop to “My Fair Lady.” The title of the film “Saving Mr. Banks” has to do with the name of strict householder and banker Mr. Banks, who played David Tomlinson in the film, and the father of the children left under the care of Mary Poppins.
